Francois D. Prophete

Francois D. Prophete graduated from Boston University where he received a Bachelor of Art degree in the fields of Economics and Psychology. Prior to attending law school, he joined a fortune 500 management consulting firm working in the industries of transportation, public utilities and finance. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law in White Plains, New York in 2000.

While in law School, Mr. Prophete participated in several moot court competitions including the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. As a law student, Mr. Prophete also served in the John Jay Legal Services, Inc. Securities Arbitration Clinic wherein he represented and advised several investors in disputes with broker-dealers before the National Association of Securities Dealers and the New York Stock Exchange.

Upon receiving his law degree, Mr. Prophete clerked in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Civil Division for the Honorable Michelle Hollar-Gregory, J.S.C. He then served as staff counsel for a large insurance company handling civil litigation matters and working with a special investigative unit dealing with suspected insurance fraud cases. Mr. Prophete has handled matters in the areas of medical malpractice, construction defect, product liability, premise liability and insurance coverage litigation. Mr. Prophete has tried and arbitrated numerous cases throughout the State of New Jersey.   

Mr. Prophete joined Purcell, Ries, Shannon, Mulcahy & O’Neill in 2008. He is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, and the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey.
